Upholstered in a premium viscose fabric, the Innovations 2000 mattress blends body-responsive pocket springs and deep layers of natural fillings. The mattress features internal tufting – a process that ensures its sumptuous fillings are held securely in place without the need for cotton or woollen tufts. Natural fillings such as wool, cotton, cashmere and silk have the ability to regulate body temperatures throughout the winter and summer months. Set within these layers is an interior made up of small diameter pocket springs, with each coil housed in its own cloth sleeve for total flexibility. This means the load on one spring is not affected by any neighbouring springs, resulting in piston-like support to each part of your body. An added feature is its side-stitched mattress borders – a labour intensive and intricate technique that take craftsmen many years to master. Using high-tension twine and a long upholstery needle, the side-stitching process attaches the mattress border to the perimeter rows of springs. This procedure adds strength to the border and prevents it from bowing out over the years.It also offers edge-to-edge support across its width.
