Upholstered in a luxurious stretch knitted fabric, the Shire Ortho mattress benefits from a 25mm layer of body moulding memory foam. Memory foam layer is temperature sensitive, designed to soften when it comes into contact with warm surfaces and moulds itself to your body shape. This reduces pressure points and creates better circulation, resulting in less tossing and turning by evenly distributing your body weight. The mattress interior consists of hourglass shaped 12.5-gauge open coil springs connected at the top and bottom by spiral wires, known as helical wires. A thick rod-edge wire surrounds the perimeter springs to strengthen the edge, allowing you to sleep right up to the edge without the sensation of rolling off.
